John Colón
Chief Know, & Founder

John Colón started in the service Industry as a doorman in an upper west side condominium at the age of seventeen. Became concierge after a few years and felt he knew all what New York had to offer.  Feeling a void in his creativity, in 1993, he took his chances on Hollywood.  Took part in all aspects of the arts and especially in writing where he wrote a treatment for television and still pitching to the networks.

While in Beverly Hills, John landed a job at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts.  This is where his love for fine dining and exceptionally high quality of service really kicked in and knew he was destined to make his mark in this captivating industry.  John came back to New York in 1996 to be closer to his daughter and family.

During the Dot Com craze of 96-98, he created and launched www.latiknow.com, then a NYC based information portal/magazine to increase awareness of the Latino-American experience.  While overseeing it’s operations he has participated and spoken at charity events, made contacts throughout and appeared in Documentary in August 2002 for PBS special on "The Puerto Rican Spirit and the American Dream".  John never left the love for the food & beverage world and came back with a vengeance.  The focus is now on Latin Cuisine and he is working on building The "Latin Food Network".

Since 1994, He has managed with the Four Seasons, Ian Schrager Hotels, Calle Ocho and Babalu with the infamous Alex Garcia.  He has worked and or consulted with prominent new spots such as Umbrella, Republi-k Lounge (DR-K), Bohio in the Heights and La Rambla.  Most recently has consulted the food & beverage outlets with Jetblue in providing outstanding customer service. Opened Joes BESTBURGER in Flushing.  Ultimately working on building the 'LatinFoodNetwork' (interested on assisting...email: jcolon@theknowcompany.com) and he is set to make his mark and destined to revolutionize the industry.

John Colón is a member of The Gerson Lehrman Group Food & Beverage Council.  A global network of suppliers, manufacturers, operations managers, engineers and industry experts who provide collaborative consulting to leaders in the investment community.
